Published for the artist's solo presentation at Art Basel Miami Beach 2016, Betye Saar: Ritual spans three decades of work organized under the unifying idea of ritual. The presentation centers around a major historical assemblage Mti, 1973 which takes its form as a freestanding altarpiece fusing together gypsy, Indian, and voodoo cultural symbols. Accompanying assemblage and collage works chosen for their reoccurring
